Lisa began working in the care sector as a support worker in the 1990s. She has performed diverse roles in a number of hospital and community settings, working alongside professionals in many disciplines.
Lisa has experience supporting people affected by a wide variety of issues, including birth injuries, autism, acquired brain injury, challenging behaviours, substance and alcohol misuse, as well as hereditary and neurodegenerative conditions.
For several years, Lisa was the CQC Registered Manager of a community brain injury rehabilitation unit, managing a 24-hour staff team. This experience underpinned her commitment to delivering high-quality supervision, appraisal and training for all staff. She understands the importance of comprehensive treatment programmes and has collaborated in writing many care plans and risk assessments, along with reviews and goal-setting activities.
Lisa is also well aware of the impact of care going wrong, and her experience has also included conducting investigations into allegations of mistreatment of vulnerable adults and support worker disciplinaries.
She also spent several years working in a busy private hospital – initially in the outpatient department – supporting consultants in a wide range of clinics as well as providing phlebotomy services. Following this, she also spent time as an operating theatre support worker, assisting elective operations in general surgery, orthopaedic, bariatric, ophthalmic, gynaecological, ENT, and plastic surgery, and providing training on infection control and control and restraint.
Lisa’s combination of clinical and community experience means that she has an in-depth knowledge of a broad range of care needs, their implications, and the working practices of health and social care professionals across many different disciplines. This knowledge gives her a practical outlook and understanding of the realities of delivering a holistic care plan.
Claire has worked as an executive assistant in various business environments, including PA to Director of IT and Operations and VP of Sales for European, Middle Eastern and African regions, developing excellent organisational and communication skills.
In 2012 she joined an organisation that provides case management to people affected by issues including birth injuries, autism, acquired brain injury, challenging behaviours, substance and alcohol misuse, and hereditary and neurodegenerative conditions. Clare provided a first point of contact for clients and their families, as well as liaising with Court of Protection deputies, therapists, solicitors and other services, becoming head of the Case Management Administration team.
Working directly with case managers, she was a member of the safeguarding team, and took an active role in managing caseloads, supporting clients with domestic matters and appointments, monitoring support worker notes and highlighting potential concerns, and researching local therapy and specialist equipment provision.
Keen to use her skills to directly support clients and their families, she joined us as an assistant case manager and is now training to become a case manager.
Clare is committed to providing high-quality supervision, appraisal and training for all our support staff, to ensure that they have the skills they need to provide an excellent level of care.
